We are excited and pleased to announce that Anderson Fuel will be merging with Rand-Handy Oil Company as of Monday August 31, 2026. This merger brings together two local and family-owned businesses who share the same values and the highest standards in customer service. The Anderson and Rand families started their businesses in 1946 and 1947 respectively and have been close family friends for decades. Anderson Fuel will manage and operate the new partnership from its location in Scituate. Rand-Handy customers will see very little change in plans, services, billing, or personnel.
What does this merger mean for you?
Current Anderson Fuel customers will see no change in plans, pricing, or service. However, some customers may see a Rand-Handy delivery truck/service van at their home as we adjust our merged routes and schedules. All drivers and technicians will be employees of Anderson Fuel.
Additionally, this merger provides our company with access to a second storage facility in Marshfield, a larger fuel supply, and an expanded service team giving us the ability to respond more quickly to customer needs and emergency requests anywhere on the South Shore.
In 2026 Anderson Fuel celebrates 80 years of business over three generations. This merger expands Anderson Fuel’s brand and services south into the Kingston-Plymouth area and will guarantee a stronger and more stable company leading into our next 80 years. More importantly, our partnership with Rand-Handy ensures that our business remains firmly rooted in serving our communities, friends, and neighbors based upon family values and not driven by big-corporate ownership.
